Published on 9/16/2019
Hiroshima University, January 9, 2020

Gregg Ten Elshof of Biola University will join Kengo Miyazono and Curtis Rigsby of Hiroshima University to critique popular accounts of mind, nature, & culture. Ten Elshof will explore the notion of shame as a healthy and beneficial emotion. Miyazono will examine self-defeating arguments against evolutionary naturalism. And Rigsby will consider traditional religio-philosophies of Asia as semiotic expressions of universal teleology. All three philosophers will respond to each others thoughts, and discussion from attendees will be encouraged at the end. The event will be publicized for the faculty and students of Hiroshima University as well as for local residents, and is open to the public.
