PAPER SUBMISSIONS

We invite paper submissions (<3,000 words) or abstracts (<500 words) on any topic in philosophy. All philosophers are welcome to submit and participate, whether or not they identify as Christian.

All submissions should be either a Word or PDF file, prepared for anonymous review, sent to BaylorSCP@gmail.com. Please use the subject heading “SCP Midwest 2021 Submission.”  The deadline for submissions is June 1, 2021.  Decisions will be made by July 1, 2021.

STUDENT PRIZE

If you are a student and wish to be considered for the $500 prize for best student paper, please indicate this in the subject heading “Student Prize Submission SCP Midwest 2021,” and in the email body, also including your degree program (e.g. MA or PhD) and institutional affiliation. Please indicate whether you would be willing to serve as a commentator or session chair.

TEACHING BROWN BAG

During the conference, we will have a virtual brown bag breakout group discussion on teaching philosophy. This is an opportunity to share strategies, materials, and ideas. Once authors of accepted papers have been notified, we will open a sign-up sheet for the teaching brown bag. In order for us to assign people to breakout groups, the sign-up sheet will ask for your institution, average class size, course levels you teach, and what about teaching you would like to discuss.

Please direct any questions or concerns to Anne Jeffrey at BaylorSCP@gmail.com .
